What is RPG Haven?
RPG Haven is a free mobile app for iOS and Android that helps you find the perfect group for your next Dungeons & Dragons session, or any other tabletop role-playing game like Pathfinder or Call of Cthulhu. It's available right now as an open beta on Google Play and Apple TestFlight.
It started out as a simple "Tinder for D&D": you swiped through other players and hoped a few match would turn into a group. Community feedback made one thing clear, though: while it was easy and fun, it had a variety of limitations. So RPG Haven evolved to revolve around the games themselves.
The easy matching vibe is still the spirit of it, only now you match with a game and a group, not just other players.

2022
It started with an idea
One simple question: "What if there was a Tinder for tabletop RPGs?"

2023
First steps
I started creating a first design prototype and letting people test it across the internet (forums, Discord, etc. -> 80 responses). The initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive, so I had my confirmation that this was an idea worth building.
2023–2025
Building and learning
I started building the app based on the feedback I got. It was focused on matching with people, which was simple and fun, but I soon realized that it wasn't enough to actually find that perfect group. You got random matches but no way to connect them or search for different games.
2026 – Today
RPG Haven today
After a new prototype and more user feedback, the app was completely redesigned around games. Finally, the app is what the community needs to build the perfect TTRPG groups.

I'm a Senior UX Designer by trade, with a master's degree in Human-Computer-Interaction. That mix of design and coding skills is what lets me build this project entirely on my own.
I got into the hobby a few years ago, starting with D&D 5e before gradually
switching over to Pathfinder 2e.
Most of the time, I was the GM for my friend group ... and as many fellow GMs will know, sometimes you
just want to be a player for once!
I then realized how hard it could be to first find the right place to look for
- especially for local games - and then actually find the right people.
It felt like there had to be a better way. So, I set out to build an app to make that way.

Is this a dating app?
No. It's an app to find the perfect people to play your favorite TTRPGs with.
Is RPG Haven like Tinder for D&D?
That's where the idea came from, yes. Only you're matching with games and groups instead of dates. These days RPG Haven works game-first: Game Masters post their games, like Dungeons & Dragons or other TTRPGs, and players browse, filter and apply for a seat.
Can I try the app already?
Yes! RPG Haven is in open beta right now, on Google Play for Android and Apple TestFlight for iOS. Feedback from beta testers is what shapes where the app goes next.
Does the app cost something?
No, the app is free to use. It contains ads, which I hope will result in at least a little bit of financial compensation for me :)
Is this a software for running the game, like a VTT?
No, the app's focus is solely on finding the perfect group for you. So finding and joining games, and chatting with your group. Once you're at the table, you use whatever VTT or tools you like.
Is this for local or online groups?
Both! The idea started out for local groups only, but soon made sense to make it work with everyone around the globe :)
Can anyone post a game?
Yes, anyone can post a game they are hosting, as long as they adhere to the app's rules and do not disturb other users with it.
Can you adjust the distance for the search?
Yes! You can choose between different ranges, starting from a local circle to wider areas. Or you can switch to "online" to find online-only games available anywhere in the world.
Does it offer every system?
My goal is to offer a wide variety of systems to choose from, so I am always open to suggestions
from the community.
Just be aware that the more obscure the system, the lesser your chance of finding likeminded
people :)
Can you filter by experience in the hobby?
Yes. Games state which experience level they expect, so you can look for beginner-friendly tables or ones for veterans. And as a GM, you can see what the players applying to your game bring with them.
